Factor participates in the UPV's Skills UP programme

A project that brings university talent closer to the Valencian business community and allows students to learn first-hand about the current challenges facing the industry

As part of the Skills UP programme at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, which aims to connect university talent with the Valencian business community, we recently welcomed a group of students from different educational backgrounds who were able to experience the reality of an industrial company in the metal sector and learn first-hand about some of the processes and challenges that define industrial activity today.

The day was led by Fernando Gastaldo, managing director; Ana María Sánchez, Director of People; Alfredo Giménez, Director of Innovation, and Sergio Mateo, Director of Operations, who shared with the participants what it means to work for the metal industry, how processes are organised in an industrial company, the main challenges facing the sector, and the role of engineering in the development of advanced industrial solutions.

In addition, participants faced a practical challenge in which they had to devise and present a proposal addressing various challenges related to smart industry, combining technical expertise, creativity, and communication skills.

At Factor, we firmly believe in the importance of bringing the industry closer to new generations, creating learning spaces where they can learn how industrial projects are developed, understand the current challenges facing the sector, and discover which skills will be key in the industry of the future.

Programmes such as #SkillsUP help to strengthen the link between universities and businesses and enable young talent to come into direct contact with the industrial fabric, a fundamental step in continuing to drive innovation and competitiveness in the sector in the coming years.
